The markers as of last fall

Each marker shows some wear and vandalism since their installation almost 13 years ago.
There are missing parts to the  birdhouses, some chipping and loss of paint, a few missing heads and entire birds, plus some damage to one of the fences.

It is my intention, as the artist for both the original installation and the new project, to restore these markers to something like their original state (with improvements). An entirely new marker will also be installed at the site of the community building.

Everyone in the community is encouraged and invited to contribute to the project.  One way you can do this right now is to donate materials.  It would be very green to use materials that might otherwise find their way into landfill sites, or just lose themselves in someone's garage.

Here are some of the things required to build/repair the markers.

3/4" or 1/2 " plywood (preserved or exterior grade) (minimum size of 2' x 2')
4 x 4 treated (or cedar) wood fence posts (min length 6')
1x 6 fence boards (min length 4')
2 x 4 treated fence rails (min lenth 4')
ready mix concrete
1 - 6 x 6 x 12' treated wood post
